India won the toss and elected to bat first against Afghanistan in their fifth match in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at Southampton on Saturday. India were dealt an early blow as Rohit Sharma (1) was dismissed early by Mujeeb ur Rahman.
The Indian opener, who has been in superb form so far in this World Cup, was outfoxed by a dream delivery from Mujeeb. Rohit could not pick Mujeeb’s carrom ball in the fifth over of the Indian innings. The ball spun away from Rohit a little and he was beaten by the late spin. The ball went through his defence and hit his off-stump for a memorable start for Afghanistan.
Virat Kohli made the right call with the coin at the toss and elected to set a total. India made one change in the team as Mohammad Shami replaced injured Bhavaneshwar Kumar.
