Srinagar: Indian Army soldiers gunned down two militants, who had attacked the headquarters of the Army’s 16 Corps in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nagrota area early Tuesday.
Unfortunately, three jawans were injured in the intense gunfight.
The militants attacked the Army camp at around 5:30 am. Heavy firing exchanges is still on between the other attackers and security forces.
Meanwhile, the state administration has ordered shutting down of schools in Nagrota.
The field regiment camp is located in the garrison town of Nagrota near the headquarters of Army`s 16 corps in the state.
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, which runs through Nagrota, has been closed as the security forces cordoned off the area.
BSF patrol party attacked
In another incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) patrol party today morning noticed some suspicious movement near a Border Out Post in J&K’s Samba district.
Following this, the BSF immediately cordoned off the area.
When challenged, BSF patrol was fired upon by miscreants holed up in a tube well pump house.
The firing firing exchanges is still on between the militants and the BSF men.
