Tata considering British businessman Sir George Buckley for top job?

Tata Sons may be considering British Businessman Sir George Buckley to fill the chair left empty after ex-Chairman Cyrus Mistry’s ouster.

According to a brief report by moneycontrol, “Tata Sons is said to have approached Sir George Buckley,” to replace Mistry. The report cited Sky News as its source.
The move comes at a time when the boardroom drama has taken a turn for the worse. Recent developments include the ouster of long-time aide Nusli Wadia after he remained in favour of the ousted chairman.

Sir Buckley is the chairman of the FTSE-100 Smiths Group, according to the aforementioned report.

Other names that have come up, likely to be running for the top job since the debacle, include PepsiCo chief Indra Nooyi, TCS CEO N Chandrasekaran, Jaguar Land Rover head Ralf Speth, and Trent Ltd Noel Tata.

In the interim, Ratan Tata has taken over as the chairman of the salt-to-cars conglomerate.
