Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Asia 2018 is underway in Shanghai. The show features high-end technologies that will change your lifestyle. Whether you are a vlogger, a gym rat or anything in between, you can find equipment here.

Technology comes from life and serves our life, and tele-presence is the first to bear the brunt of this. Lavatech’s product director Frank Zhang said their company’s tele-presence technology has no limit in terms of distance since the unit is connected to wifi internet, and you can control it from anywhere.

Meanwhile, the big highlight this year is automobile technology. More than 50 companies are showcasing auto-related features, including auto-piloting, auto driving and smart connectivity systems.

“As a car company, you have to decide do you want to hide this technology, or do you want to use it as a design element, so we decided to use sensors as design elements, so you can find that interpretations here can be on the roofline as lights. Also these lights are on the side. Let the car show, ‘I’m autonomous, I’m high tech, and I’m connected,’” Carsten Breitfeld, co-founder of Byton, said.

The electric vehicles took up an area that’s 50 percent larger than last year since comments from one automaker, “To put it simply, cars in the future will be just “smart devices on wheels”. Companies want to be bold to attract customers.”

While a handful of firms are new to CES Asia this year, many came as groups of exhibitors from other countries, including France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and S. Korea. They are here to see the market and explore its potential.
