Delhi’s Tina Dabi tops UPSC Exam 2015 in her first attempt

The Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) has declared the final results of Civil Services Examination, 2015. Delhi based 22-year-old girl Tina Dabi has secured first position while railway officer Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan from Jammu and Kashmir has got second rank. Delhi based Indian Revenue Service officer Jasmeet Singh Sandhu has secured third position in the UPSC 2015 examination.

In an exclusive interview, Tina Dhabi said, “It feels incredible. I still can’t believe that I have topped the exam. It was my first attempt. I am excited and waiting for a new learning experience.” Her success mantra “Hardwork is the key to success’’.

Miss Dabi, a graduate from Lady Shri Ram College cleared India’s top most exam in her first attempt. Dhabi is the second women in a row to secure first position in UPSC exams. In 2014 Ira Singhal a physically challenged woman from Delhi secured first position in the Civil Service exams.

Her mother said, “all I can say is that my daughter is my hero”. While her father who was surprised as well as proud of her daughter’s achievement said, “She is just 22-year old and she cleared the exams in first attempt”.

 

Thousands of students appear each year for the prestigious civil services examination, through which officers for the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service and Indian Police Service, among others, are picked.

This time, 1,078 candidates were recommended for the appointment. Of these, 499 belong to the general category, 314 are from Other Backward Castes, 176 are Scheduled Castes and 89 are from Scheduled Tribes category.
