DA case verdict LIVE: Supreme Court restores conviction of Sasikala; shatters her Tamil Nadu CM dream

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday quashed the Karnataka High Court verdict acquitting All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general
secretary Sasikala Natarajan, who was engaged in a bitter power battle with interim Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, in the disproportionate assets case.

As per the SC order, Sasikala will serve a jail sentence of three years and six months as she has already served almost six months in jail.

After being convicted in disproportionate assets by the Supreme Court, VK Sasikala cannot contest elections for the next six years.
