Conor Kennedy Was Arrested in a Bar Fight in Aspen

Conor Kennedy, the grandson of Bobby Kennedy and former boyfriend of Taylor Swift, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct following a bar fight in Aspen. Police found him “rolling around on the ground,” tussling with another man, and witnesses report seeing Kennedy punch the man several times.

According to the police report, Kennedy later apologized to one of the police officers. Kennedy also told the officer, “He called my friend the f-word.”

While the report does not further specify what word, Kennedy’s father Robert Kennedy Jr. told the Aspen Times that his son was defending his gay friend who had been called a homophobic slur.

“Conor has always reacted against bullying,” said Robert Kennedy Jr. “I’m happy he stood up for his friend.”

I’m very sorry it turned into a police incident,” he said. “(Conor’s) not liking the attention.”

Conor Kennedy’s lawyer Matt Ferguson, released a statement Thursday saying “multiple witnesses to the incident have reported that two men assaulted Conor Kennedy after he rebuked them for directing a homophobic slur and threats to his close friend.”

The police are continuing to look into all allegations from the evening. Kennedy’s court date is set for February 22.
