New Delhi: In a significant initiative, Sports Management Group Indian Tigers has entered into a strategic partnership with Cricket Russia to develop the game in that country at the grassroot level. (Read more cricket stories here)
Under this Strategic deal, both Indian Tigers and Cricket Russia, the governing body of the game in that country, will jointly develop and promote professional cricket in Russia for producing high quality players at world stage.
“Indian Tigers will support Cricket Russia in development of the game at grassroot level by providing Indian coaching resources, camps, clinics with international coaches, grassroot development programmes and development of Russian international team by deputing renowned international coaches,” a release said.
In addition, Indian Tigers will also launch Sports Education Schools across Russia and develop local cricket coaches there through Coach Education Programmes and Certifications.
Commenting on the development, Pyush Dhingra, Founder and CEO Indian Tigers Group said, “Our strategic partnership with Cricket Russia is a landmark event as it would help to enhance the appeal of the game beyond the set of current cricket playing nations. This partnership to promote cricket at grassroot level within Russia will also be a big boon for Sports Tourism between both the two countries.”
Cricket Russia is an affiliate member of International Cricket Council. It gained affiliation to the ICC in 2012. Currently there are 44 regional bodies within Cricket Russia.
In a letter to Cricket Russia President Ashwani Chopra, Dhingra wrote, “We are extremely delighted to announce that Indian Tigers and Cricket Russia have entered into an Agreement. Under this long term strategic partnership, the great game of cricket will be developed from grassroot and promoted throughout the Russian Federation.
“This alliance is an another major Milestone Achievement in Russia-Indian Collaboration. This venture will help in producing Russian cricketing heroes of tomorrow and Russia will emerge as a powerful cricket playing nation as they are in other Olympic disciplines,” the letter said.
