Billie Lourd’s Stepfather Wrote a Heartbreaking Tribute to Her Strength

Scream Queens actress Billie Lourd had to deal with the death of her mother, Carrie Fisher, and her grandmother, Debbie Reynolds, in the span of two days. Now, her family is offering kind words of support and mourning to help her get through her losses. On Thursday, her stepfather took to Instagram to pay tribute to her and the traits she inherited from her mother and grandmother.

Bruce Bozzi, an executive at the Palm Restaurant Group, has been the partner of Billie’s father, Bryan Lourd, for years, and the two got married in October. Bozzi posted a photo of Lourd’s graduation from NYU, with his stepdaughter standing proudly beside Reynolds and Fisher. In the post, he notes that Billie has inherited important traits from both family members. “The strength of these women live so vibrantly in you,” he wrote. “I’ve been lucky enough to see this for a decade.”

@praisethelourd it’s an honor to be your Stepfather. This day, your NYU grad day we had so much fun! Yankee Stadium your mom and I laughed our asses off, as she kept one fantastic line coming after the other – no less when we all fell asleep the night before in the smaller ceremony because it was so boring. Every time Carrie looked at me she said ” how are you still awake”! Your grandmother with our sweet Ava was the kindest most loving. So…as Carrie said to me years ago ” I’m a good stepmother” I promise I will always be the strength of these women live so vibrantly in you. I’ve been lucky enough to see this for a decade! Many decades to come…..heaven just got a shit load more fun!!!! I love you @praisethelourd xo Bru Thursday 12/29/16
