Filmmaker Umesh Shukla’s brings back the evergreen Jodi of Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor to the big screen after a gap of 27 years. Their film ‘102 Not Out’ hit the screen on Friday and has earned praises for the two legendary actors but with a slow start at the box office.

Following the opening of the movie, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “Like most content-driven films aimed at families, #102NotOut started on a slow note, but gathered momentum from evening onwards… A HEALTHY GROWTH is on the cards on Sat and Sun… Word of mouth is SUPER-STRONG… Fri  3.52 cr. India biz.”

While Amitabh Bachchan character bursts with optimism, Rishi Kapoor plays the role of a son who lives a dull life, without much to look forward to. 102 Not Out trailer gave us a glimpse of the cool baap who wants to live his life to the fullest and how he deals with his pessimistic son. With the positive word of mouth surrounding the film, the movie is expected to witness a considerable jump over the weekend.

‘102 Not Out’ is based on writer-director Saumya Joshi’s successful Gujarati play by the same name.

Films like ‘102 Not Out’ are best enjoyed with the family. The ease with which the film portrays the bittersweet relationship between its characters is fantastic. Such films are like soft serve ice cream on a sparkly Sunday afternoon. They make you happy. There are parts in the film where emotions run high, but it’s never too overbearing. It’s just a happy and healthy entertainer that tells you that living in the moment and making the most of every day of your life is all that matters. And the age of course, as they say, is just a number.
